Some Differences
Now that I've been here awhile, I'd like to pass on some of the differences I've noticed.
First of all, it's a "wreck" not a car accident. Which will be investigated by the "POE-LEECE".
Americans say "perMIT" instead of "PERmit", "INsurance" instead of "inSURance" -- and you don't barbecue anything, you GRILL it. In fact, the very thing you use to create barbecue pork chops is called a "grill ". A huge truck pulling a trailer or two behind it is called a "sem-I" whereas we Canadians say "sem-eee".
And there's "roof" and "hoof" but NOT rhyming with "proof". Rather, it's like the "u" in "put". Say it again: roof, hoof.
